Family names on the papers include Barber, Boyett, Brinson, Burke, Dixon, Faircloth, Foster, Hendrix, Lee, Marlow, Mitchiner, Mills, Rogers, and Wade. Also included is a receipt from Simeon Burke to Edward and Sarah Foy dated January 18, 1874. Of special interest are General Orders to Draft Locals (General Orders No. 23) dated January 8, 1865, drafted under the command of General G.W. Smith and signed by E. Winship. Corporal Winship was in the Georgia Cavalry, 8th Batallion (States Guards), Company A. Property records are arranged alphabetically by county and then chronologically.
